Red Box Gig

November 11 ...

It’s a so–so Friday =) First, our big bosses were out and second we’ll gonna have some fun that night.

Actually, we almost party early that day. Aside for the first two reasons mentioned, the centralized aircon is not working and we have no water supply that day, so we got an excuse to go out. We took our lunch at KFC Blue Wave. Thanks to Jon and Yax for the ride =)

At last, the long wait has come. The group rushed to GB3 few minutes before 5pm….

For our dinner … Big Buddha....Gosh! A delish buffet dinner made us all full but definitely never gonna stop us for the much awaited grand time party at RED BOX. Yippeeeeh!

Imagine five hours of non-stop singing, dancing and laughing…whew….so what you think are we after???….of course still full of energy and looking forward for another Friday night, definitely at Red Box!!! Whatta day!!!!

JL @ UNO Day

Every October we celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. Officially UN day is October 24th but for parents and relatives to be able to attend this celebration, JL's school decided to held it last Oct 29th (Saturday). JL was chosen to be one of the UNO candidates and we, as parents, got so excited about the event.

The program started with the parade of nations. JL was assigned to represent Mexico, others were Greece, Argentina, Venezuela, Israel, and Korea.

Jl wore the most colorful costume which we bought from Quiapo. He wore a violet, satin cloth accentuated with blue, yellow, green and red colors and a yellow Mexican-inspired hat .

BTW, the program was divided into categories. They made it appear as like the kids are on a "Search for a Child Star" contest. Complete with SportsWear, Talent and Question-and-Answer portion. In between these portions are dance numbers from pre-schoolers.

The SportsWear. JL and his partner ramped the stage, JL wearing a baseball player outfit while Damien a badminton player outfil. Off course we do all want our child to be the best but I had to admit that budget really is a constraint. So, those that he wore came out of his closet :-) NY Yankees shirt (which I both months ago), blue NY baseball cap, his old jogging pants, his pants when he's just 2 years old (well, baseball pants are really meant to be tight-fit =)), high socks, cons shoes and a baseball bat to make it more realistic. Others wore badminton outfit, soccer, moutaineering, swimming, and the very common basketball. Good thing, JL won the "Best in Sports Wear" =)

Talent portion is next. JL recited a short poem about a pussy cat who went to London. Complete with action and a black cat costume.

We were very happy about the program and how JL performed. We know he did his very best and he was also glad about it.... Deserves a treat at Jollibee and a toy from Toy Kingdom :-D

TGIF @ IO

14 October, friday night...

TGIF prepares a get-together welcoming our friend Rodel working miles away for almost two years and at the same time celebrating his birthday. We celebrated at IO Karaoke Bar, since this was really Rodel’s favorite past time even before when we were in college.

Three hours of singing was kinda exhausting, so as the usual thing we do afterwards was to have some coffee at Starbucks….

Rodel, thanks for the treat. We really had a great night out =)

JL's School Field Trip

We only had 3 hours of sleep. Need to get up early to start of the day. We were in school before six but we already departed at around seven due to some minor problems (seating arrangement)”duh”. Anyways, we’re actually all excited about the fieldtrip especially me; I even took a leave from work just to join my son in his first fieldtrip.
JL at Gardenia Plant

Our first destination was Gardenia Plant in Cavite. There we watched a film showing how Gardenia started, the stages on how breads was made and an actual tour around the plant. It's so good you can eat it on its own.

Next destination was the Pink Sisters Convent. They are called Pink Sisters because of their pink-colored habits they are wearing. We were given a chance to take some minutes of silence, pray and take some good pictures.

JL at Tagaytay Mini Zoo

Tagaytay Mini Zoo. This is one of JL's favorite. He like seeing different kinds of animals. Although this is just a mini zoo, one remarkable thing here is you can go as close as 1 meter from the tiger's cage unlike other zoos that we went before. Another interesting animal here is a five-legged bull. I'm not sure if the bull is using it because the fifth leg is shorter than the other four normal legs. Even it's just hanging on it's body well it's still amazing. There were chicken and peackocks on the loose, kids just love chasing them.

Picnic Grove. Do you know that we had our lunch at 3pm! Officially, this is where we should take our lunch, but due to some delays..etc... Well of course we had some short snacks earlier. Even you've been here to this place couple of times, you'll still enjoy the feeling because very seldom here in the Philippines that you breathe some fresh air. The place is a huge hectare of green land overlooking the Taal Volcano Lake, perfect for picnics.

JL with some of the kids at EnchantedEnchantend Kingdom. The long wait has come, kids and adults enjoyed. I was tired taking pictures, mom and JL are still full of energy. JL was very excited to see all these rides. The one that he liked most is the bump car (I used to like that too.. well until now). JL's buddy, Lance, was not able to take a ride of the bump car due to height limit. JL is quite tall, his height is higher that his age...he looked like a five year-old as others may say.

up, up and away

First days of October

Saturday

Francis and I played badminton with my officemates at Del Monte, Quezon City. It was really fun and enjoyable especially after a long week of work.

Sunday

We went to SM Hypermarket to buy some grocery for the coming week. Maybe because of that packed full weekend I wasn’t able to go to the office at the start of the week. I had a severe muscle pain and I wasn’t able to get up in bed. It was terrible feeling this way, I think it’s the badminton, but I enjoyed it a lot :-D ….

Tuesday

Before lunch in the office Bon got some free tickets for the advance screening of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. At first, I hesitate to come, but deep in side I really want to, because I need to be home early for the preparation of the next day event, JL’s fieldtrip. Since I really want to come, I asked Francis if it’s ok for us to watch the movie. He said yes, that would be fine, and because the advance screening will be at Robinson’s Galleria. We got a free date… watching movie, after a long time (no need to mention how long) hehehehe, thanks Bon, muah. The gate will open at 7:30 p.m. so we decided to stroll and buy some grocery first for our baon the following day. We took our dinner at KFC as soon as Joven arrived from work and afterwards proceeded to Cinema 6. We waited for almost 30 minutes and finally the gate opens. The film was great. I really enjoyed animated films.

"Top 2"

Of course I want a special titled post for this one....hehehe

JL @ Top 2

It was also during "Buwan ng Wika" celebration where after all the pre-schooler's presentations, an awarding of certificate of recognition to top 10 outstanding students who perform very well during the first quarter of the school year was conducted. JL belonging to the Nursery level received the Certificate of recognition for being the Top 2 in his class. We are very proud of him!!! It's only a .10 away from top 1. Not bad isn't it?

mom, dad and JL

JL did great in his school this first quarter and I believe he'll continue to improve as he goes along. I know every mom like me will surely feel the same way. My husband, Francis and I is very, very proud of our son JL.

Each level prepares a poem and a dance. JL belongs to the Nursery level. The program starts at 7:30 am. all the kids did a very good performance.

JL with the rest of his classmates
The Nursery level, were my son JL belongs, recited a poem entitled "Bandila ng Lahi"

JL and his partner in their dance

They also dance in the tune of "Paru-Parong Bukid" with costume (butterfly wings for boys and flowers for the girls).
They looked really cute with their costumes...
