Officially UN day is October 24th but for parents and relatives to be able to attend this celebration, JL's school decided to held it last Oct 29th (Saturday). JL was chosen to be one of the UNO candidates and we, as parents, got so excited about the event.

The program started with the parade of nations. JL was assigned to represent Mexico, others were Greece, Argentina, Venezuela, Israel, and Korea.

Jl wore the most colorful costume which we bought from Quiapo. He wore a violet, satin cloth accentuated with blue, yellow, green and red colors and a yellow Mexican-inspired hat .

BTW, the program was divided into categories. They made it appear as like the kids are on a "Search for a Child Star" contest. Complete with SportsWear, Talent and Question-and-Answer portion. In between these portions are dance numbers from pre-schoolers.

The SportsWear. JL and his partner ramped the stage, JL wearing a baseball player outfit while Damien a badminton player outfil. Off course we do all want our child to be the best but I had to admit that budget really is a constraint. So, those that he wore came out of his closet :-) NY Yankees shirt (which I both months ago), blue NY baseball cap, his old jogging pants, his pants when he's just 2 years old (well, baseball pants are really meant to be tight-fit =)), high socks, cons shoes and a baseball bat to make it more realistic. Others wore badminton outfit, soccer, moutaineering, swimming, and the very common basketball. Good thing, JL won the "Best in Sports Wear" =)

Talent portion is next. JL recited a short poem about a pussy cat who went to London. Complete with action and a black cat costume.

We were very happy about the program and how JL performed. We know he did his very best and he was also glad about it.... Deserves a treat at Jollibee and a toy from Toy Kingdom :-D

TGIF @ IO

14 October, friday night...

TGIF prepares a get-together welcoming our friend Rodel working miles away for almost two years and at the same time celebrating his birthday. Need to get up early to start of the day. We were in school before six but we already departed at around seven due to some minor problems (seating arrangement)”duh”. Anyways, we’re actually all excited about the fieldtrip especially me; I even took a leave from work just to join my son in his first fieldtrip.

Our first destination was Gardenia Plant in Cavite. They are called Pink Sisters because of their pink-colored habits they are wearing. We were given a chance to take some minutes of silence, pray and take some good pictures.

Tagaytay Mini Zoo. This is one of JL's favorite. He like seeing different kinds of animals. Although this is just a mini zoo, one remarkable thing here is you can go as close as 1 meter from the tiger's cage unlike other zoos that we went before. Another interesting animal here is a five-legged bull. I'm not sure if the bull is using it because the fifth leg is shorter than the other four normal legs. Even it's just hanging on it's body well it's still amazing. There were chicken and peackocks on the loose, kids just love chasing them.

Picnic Grove. Do you know that we had our lunch at 3pm! Officially, this is where we should take our lunch, but due to some delays..etc... Well of course we had some short snacks earlier. Even you've been here to this place couple of times, you'll still enjoy the feeling because very seldom here in the Philippines that you breathe some fresh air. The place is a huge hectare of green land overlooking the Taal Volcano Lake, perfect for picnics.

Enchantend Kingdom. The long wait has come, kids and adults enjoyed. I was tired taking pictures, mom and JL are still full of energy. JL was very excited to see all these rides. The one that he liked most is the bump car (I used to like that too.. well until now). JL's buddy, Lance, was not able to take a ride of the bump car due to height limit. JL is quite tall, his height is higher that his age...he looked like a five year-old as others may say.

click for more pictures

First days of October

Saturday

Francis and I played badminton with my officemates at Del Monte, Quezon City. It was really fun and enjoyable especially after a long week of work.

Sunday

We went to SM Hypermarket to buy some grocery for the coming week. Maybe because of that packed full weekend I wasn’t able to go to the office at the start of the week. I had a severe muscle pain and I wasn’t able to get up in bed. It was terrible feeling this way, I think it’s the badminton, but I enjoyed it a lot :-D ….

Tuesday

Before lunch in the office Bon got some free tickets for the advance screening of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. At first, I hesitate to come, but deep in side I really want to, because I need to be home early for the preparation of the next day event, JL’s fieldtrip. Since I really want to come, I asked Francis if it’s ok for us to watch the movie. He said yes, that would be fine, and because the advance screening will be at Robinson’s Galleria. We got a free date… watching movie, after a long time (no need to mention how long) hehehehe, thanks Bon, muah. The gate will open at 7:30 p.m. so we decided to stroll and buy some grocery first for our baon the following day. We took our dinner at KFC as soon as Joven arrived from work and afterwards proceeded to Cinema 6. We waited for almost 30 minutes and finally the gate opens. The film was great. I really enjoyed animated films.

whatta summer

whew...finally i have finnished one project in digiscrapping....
it turned out to be addicting...really it is...*wink*

cousins JL and Angela

... not bad isn't it? :-p

"Top 2"

Of course I want a special titled post for this one....hehehe

It was also during "Buwan ng Wika" celebration where after all the pre-schooler's presentations, an awarding of certificate of recognition to top 10 outstanding students who perform very well during the first quarter of the school year was conducted. It’s a Born Again Christian wedding, and it’s my second time to attend a wedding like this, the first one was the wedding of my cousin. The ceremony was held at Ancon Pavilion, Meycauayan Bulacan, as well as the reception. During the ceremony, a bread and a basket of fruits serves as the wealth and fruitful living of the couple, and Pastor Tom, the officiating pastor, highlighted the presence and importance of a bible. Dondon and Leah’s wedding was very simple yet solemn. Only immediate family members and close friends were invited. Wela and Jenny was also there to witness the event. Liezl and her husband wasn’t able to attend due to Liezl’s pregnancy condition (it’s not an easy pregnancy for her). As I saw Leah walks down the aisle, I can’t help suppressed my tears to fall down. I said “this is it,” the moment Leah dreamt of. I was very happy for both of them, but on the other side of me, I am quite sad, because they will be staying for good in Davao. Well, I believe that no matter what happen…no matter how far a friend is, we will always remain friends. We’ll surely miss you Leah. I got very emotional, especially when I was asked to say something for the newly wed. I speak with my teary eyes. I keep on telling Dondon to take good care of Leah. I believe Leah knows how happy I am for them. All I want for my dear friend is to have a happy and fruitful married life.

JL’s first day in school

20 June, JL woke up very early, 6:30 a.m. The first word he said was…”mOm I’m late in school”, I said no it’s still too early. He’s so excited to go to school. At 8:00 a.m. we went to the barbershop for his new haircut. His class schedule was 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and we were in school 30 minutes earlier. He was the first to arrive in the Nursery level and just seated in one corner and waited for the time. The Nursery level have two teachers and two assistant teacher inside. When the class started, from the window, I peep from time to time in the class to check the behavior of JL inside. Surprisingly he stays in his place but what I have noticed was he’s quite talkative, he always speak to his classmate or the teacher behind him. During their break time, I saw JL having some of his seatmate’s baon (chicken nuggets). He told me that his classmate gave him some. Well, what could be expected from kids of his age…they want what they see from other kids…hayyy.

When the class dismissed, he showed me his hands with star stamped. I said, wow!!! I asked him how come he had that, he said because he’s a good boy and he colors the star yellow. I’m so proud of my son. The teacher said that JL is quite “makulit” but nice to know that he participates in class. That’s my JL!!! That day, as a mom, I sense the interest and eagerness of my son in schooling. I asked him if he really wants to go to school already and he promptly say, “Yes”. What I do is call my cousin, Ryan, who was a teacher in The Holy Lady Academy. I asked him if it’s still possible to enroll. At that time, he was in school because there’s an on-going orientation. Maybe things are really meant to be. We went to the school, at first, just to inquire. I talked to the directress, Dr. De Guia, who was very kind in accommodating us. She explained to me everything down to the necessary payments needed for the Nursery level. Actually she gave me a discount and an option not to pay immediately the down payment and for that I owe my cousin a lot…hehehe (thanks cuz’). I pay first the books and uniforms so JL could start already the following day. Ryan took JL for a walk inside the school. I could barely see the excitement of JL in his eyes. My heart jumps in excitement too, so I agreed to enroll my son and settle the necessary payment. After that we go ahead to SM Marilao to buy the required materials in the list given by the directress. JL was so busy choosing his own stuffs especially the bag. We almost forgot the time as we took our lunch by 1:30 p.m. and just continue shopping afterwards. We’re home by 3:00 p.m. and I started covering his books and put on nametags on his things...I sewed his patches in his polo…I checked for a lot of times if everything were already prepared… whew! 11:00 p.m., at last everything was ready…I can’t sleep…I’m excited…hehehe

Ambet and Aileen’s Wedding

18 June, I attended a friend’s wedding, Aileen and Ambet. Of course, the TGIF was once again present in witnessing the said event, the most awaited union of Ambet and Aileen after a very long engagement (almost 10 years?!?!?). The wedding ceremony was held at Shrine of Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life, Central Business Park, Pasay City at past half ten in the morning (but actually they put on one and a half hour earlier on their invites, maybe, to make sure no one would be late…segurista…hehehe!!!). Francis needs to be in the airport at least 2-3 hours before his Flight to NY for the check-in. We’re in the airport at around 5:30 am. We wasn’t able to get inside and just waited for a few minutes till Francis vanished from our sight. Goodbyes’ is really not easy even for a while. It’s a heartbreaking and breath taking moment. After that, we went to FTI to buy some stuffs... we took lunch in my in-laws house. In the afternoon, we (me and JL) watch movie "Madagascar" with ate Jen, kuya Dan, Gel and Rose. It somehow eased my loneliness for a moment...the movie was good. JL liked it. After the movie, we bought shaykey's pizza and ate it in the van and they sends us home (Bulacan)... That night, i can't sleep. I'm thinking of my hubby, how is he, is he ok, what is he doing, etc. sad....so sad...

Von & Noemi's Wedding

May 21, we attended our college friends’ wedding. It’s Von and Noemi’s Wedding Day. The ceremony of union was held at Chair of St. Peter Parish at Balibago, Laguna, at three o’clock in the afternoon. The church is unique because of its pink color but it’s nice. JL was the ring bearer, Trisha (Chad and Icay’s daughter) is one of the flower girls and of course Joramir (one of our friends too) is the best man. The reception follows at Dicatado Resort I at Sta. It’s my

first time to see the Pahiyas and I was really amazed of the rich culture Filipinos have. The decorative houses created in a very unique and artistic way shows the Filipino talent and creativity that we could be proud of. And the hospitality of the people there was also noticeable. We also visited the old Lucban church.

We also experienced the rich taste of the Lucban’s “pancit habhab,” as the name implies, that’s the way to eat the pansit, hehehe…

We had our early lunch at Café San Luis then afterwards buy our “turista hats” to complete the looks…hehehe.

We also went to Taytay Falls, Majayjay with a trike ride (sobra layo…grabe!) and a long road trek (pang-extra challenge).During the trike ride we we’re able to view the beauty of Mt. Banahaw at far. It was really nice scenery. Actually it’s my second time in Taytay Falls, the first one was when I was in college.

We really did enjoy the trip. It was really a great Pahiyas escapade!!!

happy....sad....

May 12, Thursday…yipeeeh…last day of work and our “Pahiyas” trip is getting closer…it’s gonna be on Sunday, 15th of May and a lot of friends will be joining and I’m sure it’s gonna be a whole lot of fun…hehehe…everyone is soooooo excited….

On the other side of me, my heart felts a little sad…my husband’s trip to New York is also getting closer. Mesa, Manila for the scheduled Flu vaccine of JL. We were too early for the 2:00 p.m. appointment, so we decided to visit first my in-laws; we ate there for lunch and took some rest. By 2 p.m. we took a cab going to the hospital. JL was asleep when we arrived in the hospital. He was awakened as we enter the clinic. I thought he won’t be in the mood and it would be a difficult day again for his vaccination. Surprisingly not, he kissed Dra. Suzette Ramirez for the first time who was surprised by his good mood. JL really acts like a brave big boy as what he keeps on telling us. And I was very happy and proud of him….We went to SM Megamall as reward to his “brave act”. We just stroll and JL bought a new toy car with shacks, that’s the first thing he’ll look and ask for if the car has shacks...he’s so curious…hehehe….After an hour of walk we have our dinner at the food court and finally went home. JL was already asleep till we arrived home. After a few minutes of rest, Francis and I go hurriedly at SM Hypermarket to buy something for tomorrows’ outing with my in laws. As we get back home, Francis prepares the videocam and the camera we will be using, while I was preparing the rest of the things we’re going to bring.

May 7, Saturday…mama Mena, papa Tiny, ate Jen, kuya Dan and Gel arrived home at 2:30 in the morning to pick us up. We almost slept for two hours but it’s ok, we’re excited anyway J . We just continue our sleep during the travel. We arrived at Seafront Beach Resort and Restaurant at Iba, Zambales at around 7:00 a.m.. We took breakfast and rest for a while then do our purpose in life that time…enjoy the water and swim….swim…swim…We stayed there for two days and one night, which was really full of fun.

May 8, Sunday…at 2 p.m. we started to pack our things to get ready going back home. No hassle and no traffic at NLEX so we’re home by 7:00 p.m.

Finally...

finally... i made an account :-)
